Located 310 meters above sea level facing the Ariège Pyrenees’ piedmont, this small village was named Gaianum during the Gallo-Roman era and was known for its Selva woods, which led to its current name Gaja-la-Selve. It is situated in Occitania in a preserved « Natura 2000 » zone, halfway between Castelnaudary and Mirepoix.
We welcome you in a house built along the ancient fortifications of a medieval castle from which you may give a glimpse at Vixiège valley, Olmes Moutains and the Pyrenees.
Beneath its shade arbor, relish serenely your breakfast or your diner with local specialties in front of Pyrenees’ piedmont.
